Apple cinnamon barley

with maple syrup, roasted nuts and corinth raisins

1. Cook the barley Bring a pot of water to a boil. Cook the barley 18-22 minutes until tender. Drain and lightly rinse. Mix with the maple syrup and half of the cinnamon.
2. Whisk the cream In a bowl, whisk cream until it's whipped. This step can take about 5 minutes. Add one sachet of brown sugar. Put in the refrigerator until serving.
3. Roast the nuts Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Roast the nuts and the raisins 3-4 minutes until lightly coloured. Remove from the pan.
4. Cook the apples Add 1-2 tbsp of butter to the pan. Add the apples, the rest of cinnamon and the brown sugar. Cook the apples 4-6 minutes.
5. Plate your dish Add the apples and the nuts to the barley. Mix. Serve and top with some whipped cream. Serve each part of the meal family-style and let your children serve themselves. Bon appétit!
